Features of Black Max® Motors

Black Max® motors offer several advantages. One standout feature is the MAX GUARD® insulation system, which supports an unlimited lead length between the driver and the motor. This patented design exceeds NEMA MG1 Part 30 and Part 31 requirements.

Other features of Black Max® motors include:

• NEMA Design A
• Voltage: 230/460 VAC and 575 VAC 50/60 Hz
• Power rating: ¼ to 30 horsepower
• Torque speed range: 1000:1
• Fracket: A patented Marathon® motors feature allowing you to mount encoders, brakes or blowers

You can integrate Black Max® motors with any AC drive.

Black Max® Motor Models

We offer three Black Max® model options:

• MicroMax™ Inverter Duty 1000:1 CT & 20:1 CT: The MicroMax™ inverter duty model replaces a PMDC, fixed or variable speed system. It’s TENV rated for 1000:1 constant torque, TEFC rated for 20:1 constant torque and available in several cost-effective designs.
• Black Max® Vector Duty 1000:1 CT: The Vector Duty 1000:1 CT suits high-performance applications with either Volt/Hertz drives or closed- or open-loop vector controls.
• Black Max® Explosion Proof 1000:1 CT: The Explosion Proof 1000:1 CT is suitable for hazardous locations, Class I Groups C and D, and Class II Groups F and G.
