Features of Blue Chip® Motors
For several decades, Blue Chip® motors have been industry leaders. These high-performance motors excel when reliability, variable speed, and maximum efficiency are non-negotiable. Blue Chip® motors have a wide frequency and voltage range, so they meet global requirements. They are inverter duty-rated at 10:1, allowing for variable and constant torque loads.
Other features include:
- Voltage: 208-230/460 VAC, 230/460 VAC, 460 VAC and 575 VAC, 50/60 Hz.
- Power rating: 1 to 450 horsepower
- Insulation: Class F insulation
- 100% cast iron construction
Blue Chip® Motor Models
Carotron offers two Blue Chip® motor variants:
- Blue Chip® Severe Duty Explosion Proof 2:1 CT to 10:1 CT: With a power rating between 1 and 350 horsepower, the Severe Duty explosion-proof model is rated for Class I Groups C and D, Class II Groups F and G, and temperature code T3B. It meets IEEE45 USCG Marine Duty specifications.
- Blue Chip XRI® Severe Duty & IEEE841 Up to 20:1 CT: The XRI® Severe Duty models also meet IEEE45 USCG Marine Duty specifications. They have internal and external epoxy coatings. Within this line, the XRI Severe Duty has IP54 Construction and the IEEE841 has IP56 Construction.
Both models are capable of variable and constant torque.
